SUMMER PLAYGROUND

We have an active summer program in operation from mid-June until mid-August with certified staff on duty Monday thru Friday from 9:00 to 2:00 p.m.

We offer a daily schedule of activities including tie dye day, water days, crafts, and more. Field trips include roller skating, mini-golf, Reading Phillies game, bowling, swimming and the favorite activity for the kids is a day at Ozzie's. A carnival or community day closes the playground season. There is a concession stand with snacks and ice cream opened during the summer program season. Future plans include a volleyball court.

SUMMER 2013 PLAYGROUND REGISTRATION

Registration for the year 2013 playground will be held Sat., June 8th from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the playground.

You can also Register when the Playground opens.

Registration is open to children from ages 5-14. Cost is $40 for the first child and $35 for each additional child. T-shirt is included with registration.

Playground will open 6/10/2013, will end August 16th and Carnival will be August 17th (see attachments).

RUN FOR COREY - 2013

Corey Stump, a fun-loving, 8-year-old boy, was on a bike ride to the Alsace Park with friends when he was hit by a pick up truck.  The injuries he sustained tragically ended his young life. 

The Alsace Community Park was dedicated in 2000 with a Corey Stump Memorial Plaque. It is our hope to keep the playground and community strong that Corey loved so much by raising money for much needed improvements.

This year, we are hosting the 4th annual Run for Corey on May 27, 2013. Last year was a great success thanks to those of you that generously supported our event. We raised almost half of what we need to add to our current equipment. Unfortunately, our economy hasn’t improved and we have been hit harder than ever. We need to keep our children off the streets and out of possible harm. We look forward to the same community support this year, along with the family fun we had last year.

Not just your average run!

We will be holding a raffle for all running participants provided by local businessess and a 50/50 drawing will be held for walking participants that generate pledges.

We are asking for any donations (gift cards, gift certificates, items pertaining to your business, gift basket etc…) from local businesses,
